USI offers a variety of cold roll laminators built to satisfy all applications where using a thermal roll laminator will damage the print material. Before purchasing a cold roll laminator, here are a few things to consider.
Does my project require a cold roll laminator?
If the material you are laminating is sensitive to heat, a cold roll laminator is the perfect solution as no heat is required to bond the laminate to the substrate. Cold roll laminators are also ideal for outdoor applications and are suitable for laminating vinyl banners.
What is the maximum width project that will be laminated?
We offer cold roll laminators from 18" to 65" widths. Remember that these are the maximum roll widths that can be used by each machine. Narrower rolls can always be used on these laminators. You simply need to make sure to line up the top and bottom rolls exactly. When choosing a cold roll laminator, its maximum width or cut-off should equal or exceed the maximum width of the prints that will be laminated.
Do I need to mount and laminate?
Check the column labeled "Mounting" to see the maximum thickness the laminator can mount. Cold overlaminates and mounting adhesives can adhere to paper, vinyl, foam board, Sintra, wood and many other types of materials.
